About Mike Elerding

My family moved to Ketchikan in 1962 when i was 10 years old. I graduated from Ketchikan High School in 1971. After high school; i went to college, married my high school locker partner, and started a family-all in the same year. After College i went to work for National Bank of Alaska (now Wells Fargo) and then on to First Bank. As a banker my lending philosophy was "bank your buddy" I was a commercial lender, a real estate lender and a branch manager. Today i serve on the board of directors for First Bank. A great financial institution. I left banking to purchase a wholesale Distribution company featuring Pepsi, Frito Lay products, Oroweat Bread and a host of other products. We started with 4 employees in 1983 and by the time we sold the business in 2004 we had over 100 full time employees and 5 regional distribution centers in Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau, Kodiak and Anchorage My wife and i raised our 3 children in Sitka and Ketchikan. While in Sitka i was coach of my sons baseball teams from Little League to Sr. League. I served multiple years as president of the local USA Swimming team and was active in community events. Our children have families of their own and live in Ketchikan and Vancouver, WA. I have had my RE license since 2007. In 2010 my wife and i founded Coastal RE Group with 3 partners.
